January birthdays...

I have a few coming up!
I haven't done any crafting  this week - what with Christmas
and decorating the kitchen!
Must be mad to do it at this time of the year, but we go out for Christmas lunch,
Christmas evening buffet, and boxing day dinner, so we haven't needed to cook for a few days.
We are entertaining tomorrow evening, but are back up and running
... even though there is plenty left to paint - and "create!"

Anyway - here's my card the this weeks challenge over at Glitter n Sparkle -
a lovely, easy challenge, "anything goes"...
and my card, using - Cupcake Wreath - from Eureka.

I coloured the image with my promarkers -
it took a while, as all those little teeny confetti pieces were so fiddly to colour! Lol..
The candles are finished with glossy accents, although that hasn't shown up on the pic.
The sentiment in the middle is from Pink Petticoat - although
I think the set might now be retired... it's called Girly Curly sentiments.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges...
Thats crafty - anything goes - 2 Jan
C.R.A.F.T - anything goes - 1 Jan

Saturday 27 December 2014

Just realised....

That I didn't get round to sharing the family Christmas cards I made this year...

I used the same theme.
I haven't used my Memory box frostyville border, very much and I do love it,
and with my new ( well, bought earlier in the year and never used)
poinsettia die - and some old papers that I have had for years...

Oh, and I have just realised that there is a couple I missed taking pics of... oh well.
They are similar to these, but using other backing papers.

Seeing as they are all so similar and all red / green / poinsettia / snowy border themed,
I would like to enter them into the following challenges....

Traditional christmas

"Traditional Christmas colours"
is the challenge over at Glitter n Sparkle this week
and I got another gorgeous image from the wonderful
'A Day for Daisies'...called The Mistletoe.

I knew straight away, that I would make my Hubbys Christmas card with this image.
I spent ages trying to come up with a suitable sentiment to put with it...
he knows this is just the kind of thing I would say to him :)
Lol:)
But then I had the task of making it 'not too girly.'
So, the traditional colours theme was good for this card...
I used my promarkers to colour the image
and a snowflake embossing folder for the background,
along with  DCWV green backing paper.
I simply cut the mistletoe myself, from green card, with my tiny scissors.
The HUSBAND was cut on my die cutter - sizzix wingo zingo font.
The holly was punched with a 50p holly punch I bought on a car boot sale over summer.

A glittery christmas!

Over at  the Glitter n Sparkle blog this week, the
challenge is to "glittery sparkly christmas"
and I got this gorgeous image....

'Christmas frame' from Floppy Latte at Stitchy Stamps.
All this gorgeous image needed was colouring, a bit of glitter and a sentiment.
I love the sentiment - I got it quite a while go, as  a free digi,
but I'm sorry - I don't remember where it was from.
I dragged out my fine, multicoloured glitters and glamour dust for this one. the house rooftops,
stars, bow and candy-cane are all glittered.
Everything else is coloured with my promarkers and mirage pens.

A little bit of christmas magic...

Such a lovely image,
'Sugar Plum' from Ditzie designs,
I knew straight away it wouldn't need too much ....

So I coloured her with my purple and pink promarkers,
as this weeks challenge over at Glitter n Sparkle is to use modern christmas colours
(on a christmas image, obviously).
I edged her in my pastel beige promarker to make her stand off the page a bit,
and added plenty of sparkle...
Glamour dust is sprinkled around her and also
a whole thin border around the card too.
A simple sentiment, which I created in Publisher, finished this card.

Little christmas robins

I got such a cute image, this week!
Hootie Christmas Carol from Crafty sentiments...

Love it! (The challenge is to "use some snow)
The image also has some little musical notes above the birds, but for this card,
I knew I wanted to fussy cut the birds,... but fussy cutting around
the notes would be going a bit too far! lol.

The challenge, this week, is to "use some snow"
I coloured the cuties with my promarkers
and sat them on a gorgeous snowflake embossed frame, from craftwork cards.
I have had these frames for a few years and this is the first time I have got round to using one!
They are really lovely.
Its hard to see it, but I also used glamour dust on this card...
on the robins hats, making a little sprinkling of glittery snow on the branch and holly leaves
and also on the big snowflake in the bottom corner.
The sentiment came from a little set of stamps I bought cheaply on a car boot sale, during summer.

Santa Claus is comin' to town!

For my second and final step-sister appearance over at
The Sisterhood of Crafters this week, the theme is...
'Santa Claus is coming to town'

This gorgeous stamp is from 'Little Claires' and it's called 'Christmas Eve'.
I love it! It's a new stamp for me and I have made a few cards with it already.
I coloured it with my promarkers and added some icicle stickles.
I matted and layered the image on dark blue, then silver mirror card - which seems
to look lilac on this pic!
A simple embossed line around the image finished this card.

Tag it!

This weeks challenge at 'Glitter and Sparkle' is to... "tag it!"

This cute chap is called "Peekaboo" from Scribbles digi stamps.
I handcut the tag shape and punched a hole in the top
with my big-bite.
I threaded some ribbon through and tied a bow at the front.
I printed the cheeky fox directly onto the card, but
printed off another set of his claws and decoupaged them on.
The backing paper is from a dovecrafts paper set.
Finally, I added some thin strips of the backing paper to the tag, and inked all around the edges
and added a short snappy sentiment "surprise!".

I would like to enter this into the following challenges,...

Just 'cute!'

Well, this weeks challenge over at Glitter and Sparkle, is ...
Cute!  ...
and I definitely think I found a "cute" image at Bugaboo..
'garden cat and droplet'

I already had the sentiment in a pile of digi sentiments I have, on my PC...
and I thought it fitted so well with this image -
that bird has definitely seized the moment!
I used docrafts backing paper - I think it was the first set of craft papers I ever bought!
(The colossal pack)
I added a punched and embossed border. a frilly border at the bottom, some punched flowers
and a butterfly.
The image was coloured with my promarkers
and as a finishing touch, I embossed a simple line around the image and the backing paper.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges...

Would I like to...?

What a compliment!
I have been asked to join the Sisterhood of Crafters
as a step-sister for this month...
Of course, I yelped, "Yes, please!"
The theme for this fortnight is
"Thank"ful (use the word 'thank' on your card/project ... i.e.  Thanks, Thankful, Giving Thanks, With Thanks, etc.)
Here's my card...

I recently won over at Patties creations, and chose this image as my prize.
I was looking for an excuse to use it...
Anyone who knows me, knows I LUUURVE chocolate,
in just about any form.
If someone was thanking me, a jar of choccy chip cookies would go down a real treat!
I finally got round to using an embossing folder that I have had for
(I am ashamed to say) literally YEARS -  I inked over the embossing with gold and brown.
I coloured the cookies with my promarkers and mirage pens
and the sentiment on the (handcut)tag is from Pink Petticoat, attatched with bakers twine.
Because pf the colour (brown) I used for the backing, I think card could be suitable for either
a female or a male... I know my hubby loves his choccy cookies too! :)

Toot my Scoot

The challenge this week. over at Glitter n Sparkle,
is to use "Autumn colours".
This time, I got the "toot my scoot" image from The Stamping Chef...

Such a cute n sassy image from The Stamping Chef!
I added a digi sentiment - girls just wanna have fun -
and coloured it with my promarkers.
The backing papers are all from an old 6 x 6 paper set
from dovecraft papers... perfect colours for this challenge!
I punched 3 flowers to keep the girly theme, and inked the edges of everything.
Another punched flower in her hair, finished this card.

Very handy...

Spookily so, infact...
This weeks challenge over at Glitter n Sparkle,
is to make a card "anything but square."
PLUS I got this image....(the door)
PLUS i had to make a card for a family I know who were moving house,
PLUS it's halloween and I thought this had a sweet but maybe spooky halloween look to it....
(which is good as they are moving at this time of year)

I was lucky to get the door border image this week, from Eureka.
I embossed my brick type embossed folder onto grey - slightly textured - card.
I punched the frills for the roof.
I coloured parts of the door, to give some feel of depth, with my promarkers,
added a little sign I made, with the families name on,
and finished off with a little memory box die cut cat and birds.
I was pleased with the way it came out and it has gone down a treat with my friends :)

More autumn colours...

My mum recently asked me to make a card for her friend - for her 70th birthday.
She asked me to include several things she loves...
gardening, sewing, her cat and the sun!
This is what I came up with...

All the images I used are from Debbie Mumm. I bought digi sets designed by her
at PC Crafter, but sadly - they are not online anymore.
Some of the elements are on foam squares, so slightly raised.
I faux stitched around the edges, and added some Martha Stewart punched butterflies.

It's beginning to look a lot like ... Christmas!

Yes... the lovely ladies over at Crafting by designs,
asked me to be a guest designer for this fab challenge ...
we are "getting ready for christmas!"
So, this is the card I came up with...

And here is a close up...

How lovely is that image?
It's from "Make it Crafty"... I won this stunner, on their challenge blog
a little while ago and have been waiting to use this image.
I coloured the image with my promarkers
and added a little stickles icicles to the wreath and garland..although
you can't see that on the picture.
Glossy accents made the red ribbons and the light of the lanterns, look shiny.
After being matted on red, to lift the image, I sat the whole thing
on embossed snowflakes.... an embossing folder which I haven't used for a couple of years..
thought it could do to show its face again!
(you can see them better on the close up pic.)

Just this week, I won over at Patties Creations, so quickly chose my 2 free images as I
already had an idea for this image for a friends birthday card.
The image is called coo coo clock and i loved colouring this sweet digi!
I backed it onto an embossed background...one of my favourite ones, and inked the edges of everything...
including the little sentiment, which i stamped.
I decoupaged parts of the clock too and added some G.A to the clock face
and heart.

So here are mine...

First up, this is the very lovely Coco La Belle from Lacey Sunshine.
What a cutie!
I coloured her with my promarkers
and inked the edges of all papers I used.
The very back paper is the frst I ever bought...the collossal collection form docrafts.
The flowers are also from docrafts.
I punched the buttterflies and
the punched strip came from a car boot sale!

called "happy schoolboy holding pencil" from Ken Benner.
I cut up a little border, (which I bought in a little craft book in Canada years and years ago!)
for the little school supplies.
I hand-drew the #1 myself, along with the faux-stitching around the edge.
I used a piece of graph paper (from school!!!) for the background banner shape.

Black and white

Theres a fab challenge on this week, over at Glitter n Sparkle...
Black and white.

I got this gorgeous digi image - Stacey Spectacular - from The Stamping Chef.
I paper pieced her skirt - grey paper, covered in tiny black hearts
and coloured the rest of her with my promarkers.
I added a strip of B/W paper i got on a 6 x 6 pad form "The Works"
and I felt the back of Stacey needed something,
so popped it all onto a swiss dots embossed background.
Her glasses and bag strap, I couldnt resist giving a little pop of red.
A silver bow was the finishing touch to the banner sentiment (which comes with Stacey!)

I got the Stamping Boutique logo, from the Stamping Boutique,
which was a good start...  :)

I coloured the image in pastel shades of my promarkers,
added some blue, butterflies, birds, balloons, and bunting (I drew on the bunting, myself)
then used a border die behind the image.

My last card for my guest designer spot.

... over at Cardz 4 guys.
Sob, sob!
I have really enjoyed the challenges and it has pushed me -
to come up with cards for males for the last 5 weeks.

Anyway.. here it is...

The challenge was "sport - no balls!"
and all I could think of was swimming or cycling... but then I remembered my friend who loves running.
So, I found a digi of trainers and googled a water bottle and an ipod -
all of which I coloured with my promarkers.
I gave the white piece a swish of blue chalk before sticking everything down.
A stamped sentiment finished this card.
(and I embossed around the image, as I think this always gives a finished look.)

Love this digi!!!

...and have been wanting it for a while. Couldn't believe my luck when I
got the chance to use it for this challenge!!
It's called "Pearls in my hair" from A Day for Daisies.
I just luuuurve this image... it's sooo beautiful and elegant!
Perfect for our "use some flowers" challenge this week, over at Glitter n Sparkle.

I am so pleased with how this worked out!
I used a flowers embossing folder, a piece of an old docrafts paper
from the "colossal" pack... purple hearts (to match her dress),
coloured the image with my promarkers, used a little glossy accents on the birds,
and memory box die cut flowers in the corners.
(they took aggges to assemble, as they are just so tiny!!)
Liquid pearls added to her hair and the flower centres, to finish.

Over at Cardz 4 Guys this week, the challenge theme is  "water"

I love this freebie stamp I got on a magazine last year.
I chalked the background.
The deckchair stamp also came in the freebie pack, which I coloured with my promarkers.
The driftwood is part of a frame, from Delicious Doodles.
(I just used one side of the frame, and coloured with promarkers again.)
An  embossed frame around the whole thing, brought it all together.

I coloured the image with my promarkers and used a forever friends backing paper.
The bag and the balloon are decoupaged and the balloon is also

For a male again.

This weeks challenge, over at Cardz 4 guys, is "no patterned paper"
It was much harder than I thought...as I discovered I have a LOT of patterned paper! lol  x

I used "Party bag" digi image from Bugaboo.
I used my promarkers to colour the image, and I layered it too... the bag and the balloon
are lifted, on foam squares.
I also diecut a pint of foaming beer and added that next to the bag.
The sentiment is from "Paper makeup" digi stamps.
I added 3 stripes of different blues behind the image, and embossed a line around it all.

Make a wish...

Over at Glitter n Sparkle this week,
the challenge is to "use a punch"...
well, maybe I went a bit over the top.. I used 6 punches!! lol!

Such a great image - "all girl," from The Stamping Chef.
I thought the sentiment was quite appropriate to the image, as
she looks like she's trying to make quite a decision ... wishing for so many things!
The punches used in this card... martha stewart butterflies...(my fave,
which i use on as many cards as I can!), corner punch, border punch, 2 flower punches and
the edge of another border punch (creating heart shape, just underneath he butterflies).

Just C.A.S...

For my 2nd card for my guest design spot over at Cardz 4 Guys,
the theme is C.A.S (Clean and simple).
I love making a card with that theme... this was right up my street!

I used the "perfect blend" coffee cup and coloured it softly, with my promarkersand stamped a birthday sentiment, straight onto the card with a docrafts stamp.
Then, I added  a corrugated card, "cup holder",
a cream strip and a polka dot strip and embossed a square around the whole thing,
to bring the card together.
Finally, I handcut the nametag, stamping with with my tiny docrafts alphabet stamps.

Thanks a bunch

Over at Glitter n Sparkle this week, the challenge (101) is to use a digi...
I use digis a lot on my cards... quick and easy to use, reuseable over and over
and you can size them to whatever you need!

For this card, I used "Mixed Bouquet" from Eureka.
I decided to use this image as a thank-you bunch of flowers.
The sentiment is from Pink Petticoat...another wonderful digi company.
I coloured the image with my promarkers and mirage pens,
and added  a little gold bow.
The backing paper is from a dovecrafts set of flowery papers.
To finish this card off, I embossed a line around the inner edge.
Thinking on, if I made this card again, I would colour the rose in  a much softer pink...
maybe a vintage pink colour. I think it stands out a bit too much... nevermind.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges...
Sister act - anything goes - 12 Sept

Soooo pleased... I was asked to be a guest designer for this month!

Well, how chuffed was I, when I was asked to be the September Guest designer
over at "Cardz 4 Guyz challenge." ?!?!
VERY!!! :)

So here is my card for this first of this months challenges -
Man's best friend!

Awww..poor love... he is from QKR Stampede, and was lovely to colour.
I used docrafts papers -they are from an old range... all about pets.
I hand-drew and cut the bone, and inked the edges of everything as a finishing touch.
I often find myself making mens cards on a kraft card....

Another "sassy" card

Here's the second card I made for this weeks "sassy" challenge over at Glitter n Sparkle...

The image is "Cameo 7" from Fitztown.
I really loved colouring her.
This one came together quite easily, using a 6 x 6 paper from a pack
I bought in "the works".
The strip across the middle, is from an offcut of a friends old wallpaper!
The butterflies are Martha Stewarts punched butterflies.
You can't see so well on the pic, but there are bits of gold glitter in the rose in her hair.
The sentiment took the longest time to come up with.
I thought she was looking quite thoughtful, and hopefully, I have
managed to make this card quite humorous, with the addition of the sentiment.
